Temporary Position:

Approximately 3-4 Months Kristilynn's Tiny Teachers™ is looking for a dependable, patient, and flexible individual to fill a temporary combined role as a substitute daycare teacher and family nanny. This position will last approximately 3-4 months, with employment and future opportunities reassessed at the end of the temporary period. Because this position combines childcare center responsibilities with in-home nanny care, applicants must be comfortable with a flexible and fluctuating schedule. Some weeks may include more daytime daycare hours, while others may include afternoon and evening nanny hours. Schedule & Flexibility Hours will vary based on the needs of the daycare and family.

The position may include:

Daytime hours substituting at Kristilynn's Tiny Teachers Afternoon and evening nanny hours Occasional transportation to school, extracurricular activities, appointments, or events A schedule that may change from week to week Pay is $16-$18/hour depending on experience level Nanny Responsibilities The nanny portion of the position will primarily involve caring for two young children and helping keep their afternoon/evening routines running smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

Providing safe, attentive, and nurturing care Communicating in American Sign Language (ASL) Transporting children to and from cheer, dance, school activities, appointments, and other events Preparing or assisting with meals and snacks Helping children get dressed and ready for activities Assisting with homework and school responsibilities Helping with evening routines Tidying up after the children Keeping children's belongings, activity supplies, and common areas organized Providing structure, patience, and consistency Communicating with the parent regarding schedules, activities, behavior, and daily needs Daycare Substitute Teacher Responsibilities While working at Kristilynn's Tiny Teachers, responsibilities include: Providing active and adequate supervision of children at all times Creating a safe, loving, inclusive, and engaging environment Assisting with daily routines, meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, transitions, and activities Engaging children in age-appropriate play and learning experiences Following classroom routines and teacher instructions Cleaning and sanitizing toys, tables, classroom materials, and childcare areas Helping maintain an organized classroom Communicating professionally and respectfully with parents and families Working cooperatively with other staff members Demonstrating patience and understanding with children of different ages, abilities, personalities, and needs Following all Kristilynn's Tiny Teachers policies and applicable NYS childcare regulations Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: Have a high school diploma or equivalent Genuinely enjoy working with children Be patient, responsible, hardworking, and dependable Know basic American Sign Language Be able to provide appropriate supervision in a busy childcare environment Have dependable transportation Have a valid driver's license and be comfortable transporting children Be willing to complete a New York State childcare background check Be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification if not already certified; training may be completed after hire Be comfortable communicating with parents and caregivers Be willing to help with cleaning and general childcare-related household/classroom tasks Be comfortable working both independently and as part of a childcare team Be dependable when scheduled and communicate promptly regarding any scheduling concerns Ideal Candidate The ideal person for this position is someone who is flexible, energetic, nurturing, trustworthy, knowledgable in American Sign Language and able to confidently transition between a professional daycare environment and a family nanny role. We are especially looking for someone who understands that working with children requires patience, consistency, reliability, good judgment, and a willingness to jump in wherever help is needed. Because transportation and evening activities are an important part of the nanny role, reliability and comfort driving children are essential. Temporary Employment Period This position is currently expected to last approximately 3-4 months. At the end of that period, the family's and daycare's needs, the employee's availability, and overall job performance will be reviewed. Continued employment may be discussed at that time but is not guaranteed.
