Responsibilities Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans focused on toddler care, literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning. Lead daily classroom activities that promote active learning, curiosity, and positive behavior management. Monitor and assess each child's developmental progress, applying knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share insights on their child's growth, behavior, and classroom experiences. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child welfare concerns or incidents. Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards including first aid and CPR certification requirements. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to ongoing professional development initiatives. Skills Strong knowledge of early childhood education practices, including curriculum development for toddlers and preschoolers. Experience working with children in a classroom setting, especially with toddlers or preschool-aged students. Proficiency in behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies that support positive social interactions. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Familiarity with special education principles, early intervention methods, and childhood development benchmarks. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and play-based learning. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certification.
