Preschool Lead Teacher Lakewood Congregational Church Lakewood, OH Job Details Part-time | Contract $16 - $18 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications School experience Teaching Certification Lesson planning Full Job Description Overview Haynes Preschool in Lakewood, OH is seeking a Lead Teacher for their 3-year-old Preschool Classroom. This is a part time, 3 day/week position (currently Wednesday-Friday) with the possibility of increasing to 5 days/week depending on enrollment. Haynes Preschool is a church-supported, tuition-based preschool that strives to educate children ages 3-5 through peer interaction, socialization and learning in a comfortable, pre-kindergarten setting. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth to prepare children for kindergarten. Interested candidates should send a letter of interest and resume to Responsibilities Maintain all relevant State of Ohio licenses and certifications at their own expense Continue education in the early childhood education field Utilize instructional methods appropriate for preschool aged children Demonstrate a strong commitment to student welfare, education, and personal growth Believe in the capability of children to learn, and treat children with respect Openly share ideas and report problems to the Director Work efficiently within existing learning structures and identify potential system improvements Establish professional teamwork relationships with other staff, students, and parents Maintain consistent communication with parents throughout the school year Represent Haynes Preschool in a positive light to the outside community Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education or similar experience desired Certification and expertise in early childhood education or closely related fields required; Must meet preschool teacher education requirements set by Ohio Department of Job and Family Services/Ohio Department of Children and Youth Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention practices, and special education accommodations Desire and ability to work with children with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing their developmental goals Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members Experience with child welfare policies is desirable Ability to comply with mandated reporting laws and uphold safety standards within the classroom environment
