Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated early childhood education team as a Teacher for the Early Head Start program, focusing on toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years. In this vital role, you will foster a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports young children's growth across all areas of development. Your passion for early childhood education and experience working with young children will help lay a strong foundation for their future learning and well-being. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum tailored to toddlers' developmental stages, incorporating literacy education, motor skills, social-emotional learning, and early intervention strategies. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and effective classroom management techniques. Conduct regular child development assessments to monitor progress and identify individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share child progress, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school connections. Maintain detailed lesson plans, daily activity logs, and classroom records in compliance with licensing and program standards. Ensure adherence to mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any suspected child welfare issues or abuse. Support physical education activities and incorporate movement-based learning to promote healthy physical development. Experience Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or toddler care environments. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management strategies. Experience with special education practices and early intervention programs is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, child welfare policies, and best practices in early childhood education.
