On-Call During Preschool Program Hours Position Summary The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking compassionate, dependable, and energetic individuals to serve as Substitute Preschool Aides in our early childhood program. The Substitute Preschool Aide assists teachers in providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for preschool-aged children, including children with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Substitutes provide classroom support on an as-needed basis and play an important role in helping children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist teacher in implementing daily classroom activities and instructional plans. Support the learning and developmental needs of all children in an inclusive preschool setting. Provide supervision and guidance during classroom activities, meals, transportation, and outdoor play. Assist children with personal care needs, including toileting, handwashing, and feeding, as needed. Help implement behavior support strategies and encourage positive social interactions. Adapt to the individual needs, abilities, and learning styles of children. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Prepare classroom materials and assist with learning activities as directed by teaching staff. Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families. Follow County Board policies, procedures, and safety practices. Perform other duties as assigned to support the preschool program. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Ability to work effectively with young children. Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Demonstrated reliability, flexibility, and professionalism. Successful completion of criminal background checks and other screenings as required by law. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with preschool-aged children. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Coursework in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Human Services, or a related field. CPR/First Aid certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices. Ability to work as part of a collaborative educational team. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children of all abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing classroom needs. Physical Requirements Ability to actively engage with preschool-aged children throughout the school day. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to assist students with mobility, positioning, and personal care needs as necessary. Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor classroom activities. Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Compensation Pay Range:
