The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WyCBDD) is seeking a caring, flexible, and qualified Preschool Teacher to provide instructional support in our preschool program on an as-needed basis. This position serves preschool-aged children with developmental delays and disabilities and supports the delivery of high-quality special education services in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. The Substitute Preschool Teacher will assume classroom responsibilities during the absence of the regular teacher and collaborate with educational staff to ensure continuity of instruction and support for all students. Essential Responsibilities Implement lesson plans, classroom activities, and instructional strategies developed by the regular teacher. Provide specialized instruction and support to preschool children with developmental disabilities and delays. Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment. Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and student accommodations. Collaborate with classroom aides, therapists, and support staff to meet student needs. Monitor student behavior and utilize positive behavior support strategies. Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions. Collect and document student information as directed. Follow all WyCBDD policies, procedures, and Ohio Department of Education requirements. Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and program operations. Perform other duties necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the preschool program. Minimum Qualifications Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License or Substitute Teaching License appropriate for assignment. Bachelor's degree required. Ability to work effectively with preschool-aged children, including children with developmental disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Successful completion of all required background checks and pre-employment requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an early childhood special education setting. Knowledge of child development and preschool educational practices. Experience implementing IEP goals and accommodations. Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices. Ability to provide a structured and supportive learning environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Skill in managing classroom routines and behavior positively. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, aides, and families. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a variety of classroom situations. Physical Requirements Ability to actively engage with preschool-aged children throughout the school day. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to assist students with mobility, positioning, and personal care needs as necessary. Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor classroom activities. Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Compensation Pay Rate:
