Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods. Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that support children's social-emotional development. Conduct ongoing child development assessments to tailor instruction to individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress, address concerns, and promote collaborative support for each child's growth. Ensure safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining first aid and CPR certifications, and following health and safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom activities, and school-wide initiatives to enhance learning experiences. Support children's physical activity through engaging physical education lessons and promote overall wellness within the classroom setting. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills. Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development techniques, and early intervention strategies. Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management techniques, and standardized testing methods for young children. Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration. Valid certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing professional development in early childhood education preferred. Experience with Montessori methods or other specialized curricula such as literacy education or math instruction is a plus.
