Job Description

Position Overview The Pre-K Counts Lead Teacher will provide high-quality early childhood instruction in accordance with Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts standards. This role includes planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, maintaining compliance with all Pre-K Counts program requirements, and ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Implementation:
Plan, develop, and implement age-appropriate, research-based curriculum aligned with Pre-K Counts standards.
Child Assessment:
Conduct developmental screenings, observations, and progress monitoring to inform instruction and individualized learning plans.
Family Engagement:
Build strong relationships with families, maintain regular communication, and conduct parent-teacher conferences as required.
Classroom Management:
Establish a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
Professional Development:
Participate in monthly professional development trainings and remain up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
Leadership:
Serve as the lead teacher in the classroom, mentoring assistant teachers and ensuring adherence to program standards.
Compliance:
Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and meet all Pre-K Counts reporting requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with administrators, support staff, and teaching team members to ensure program success.
Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the mission and smooth operation of Akira Academy. - First aid/CPR certification is a plus As a Pre-k Counts teacher, you will play a vital role in the development and well-being of the children in our care. Your passion for childhood education combined with your nurturing nature will create a positive learning environment where children can thrive.

$33.00 - $38.00 per hour
