General Job Decription As a Lead Teacher you will be in charge of running and structuring your classroom through creating engaging programs (educational lessons + crafts), managing the classroom (making sure classroom runs on schedule) and ensuring a safe enviornement (adhering by all childcare safely laws and precautions) while surrounding students in a stimulating environment. Your are setting the foundation for our young scholars life long education journey. The building blocks we used to help them identify with their world and themself is our primary focus for this age group. As the lead teacher you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and holistic development of the children under your care. An assitant teacher will be supporting yourself and the classroom needs by helping with preparation of lesson plan materials, interacting with students and helping with sanitizing the environment. Classroom Responsibilities Plans and implements a full-day, year-round, developmentally appropriate curriculum including weekly lesson plans. Design student-driven weekly lesson plans that align with the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards and the Creative Curriculum. Ex; Color, Shape, Letters, Numbers, animals, food, ETC. Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis and implement OVS approved curriculum. Support the physical, social and emotional development of all students. Communicate daily with classroom parents and/or guardians (Via Brightwheel) Ensure all required classroom postings and program documentation is maintained; as well as NAEYC classroom portfolios and individual student portfolios. Communicates daily via written notes, email, and/or electronic portal about children's activities and well-being. Participates in individual group activities with the children, such as art, science, math, language, sports, games, outdoor play, etc Communicates child and/or parent concerns to group supervisor in a timely manner. Implement effective behavior management techniques when required Work with childrens assisngned support personale Secondary Responsibilities Maintain a well-kept classroom that helps ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of children. Abiding by all applicable Health and Safety policies and maintains a clean and sanitary classroom environment. Classroom Dishes, Classroom toys, any eating materials, etc. Adheres to all established policies, procedures, and code of ethics. Assisting with infant and toddler classroom if and when needed Changing children / Potty Training Maintaining Childrens necessary materials; Diapers, Wipes, Extra Clothes, Food, ETC.
