Jacob's UCC Early Learning Center:

St. Jacob's Child Care Center opened during the summer of 2006 as a means to provide quality care to our local community and also as a church we wanted to reach out to our community to provide a safe and nourishing faith based environment for families. We believed there would be a particular benefit to parents that were living close by but commuting to the greater Baltimore area or beyond. Our program grew from the ground up and has always striven to grow in depth of quality of care, development, and education for the children in our care and our staff. Ten years later, we still have the same outlook on our community and wanting to provide the best faith-based education to the children! Responsibilities may include but are not limited to : Implement curriculum daily Maintain daily logs of infants' activities Monitor infants' mental and physical development Provide age-appropriate activities and stimulation Recommend age appropriate developmental milestones Coordinate with other staff on treatment plans, feeding schedules, and diaper changes Identify developmental delays, and meet infants' needs accordingly Provide families with support during changes and transitions Keep infants' room clean and hygienic including cleaning and sanitizing toys Maintain positive parent/infant relationships Familiarize with infant development guidelines, as well as state and local licensing regulations Commits to constant professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration Shares a commitment to the mission, goals, culture, and objectives of St. Jacob's ELC Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills :

Strong instructional and classroom management skills required Team player; ability to work in a collaborative, responsible and professional manner Ability to inspire, motivate and engage children Strong organizational and planning skills Goal-oriented, seek to improve skills though constructive feedback Compassionate, enthusiastic, empathetic and displays a strong work ethic Ability to kneel, sit, stand for long periods of time Must be able to obtain FBI clearance, Criminal Record, Child Abuse, Mandated Reporter, and National Sex Offender Registry.
