MI School in Riverside, Rhode Island is looking for a full-time Lead Toddler Teacher to join our bilingual early learning community. Our Toddler classroom is busy, joyful, and full of growth. We are looking for someone who can create a calm, nurturing classroom while also bringing structure, creativity, and strong leadership to the teaching team. At MI School, toddlers learn through play, movement, music, stories, sensory exploration, art, early science, Mandarin exposure, outdoor play, and lots of hands-on discovery. What You'll Do Lead the daily operation of the Toddler classroom Develop and implement weekly curriculum and lesson plans based on children's developmental needs, interests, our school-wide learning themes and RIELDS Create engaging learning experiences in early literacy, math, science, art, sensory play, music, movement, and social-emotional development Adapt activities for different developmental levels within the classroom Create a safe, warm, organized, and engaging classroom environment Guide daily routines including transitions, meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and outdoor play Support children in learning to communicate, regulate emotions, build independence, and develop positive relationships Observe children's development and use those observations to guide future curriculum planning Work closely with the assistant teacher and provide clear direction, support, and teamwork Communicate professionally and warmly with families Collaborate with other teachers and school leadership Bring forward ideas to improve curriculum, routines, and the overall classroom experience We Would Love to
Meet You If You:
Have experience working with toddlers in an early childhood setting Meet Rhode Island requirements for a Lead Teacher, or are close to meeting them Enjoy curriculum planning and feel comfortable creating developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans Understand how toddlers learn through play, repetition, movement, sensory experiences, and relationships Are dependable, patient, organized, and confident managing a classroom Communicate well with both families and coworkers Enjoy mentoring and working as part of a team Stay calm and positive during busy moments Take initiative and notice what needs to be done without always waiting to be asked Care deeply about helping young children feel safe, capable, and excited to learn Early Childhood Education coursework or a degree in ECE, Child Development, Education, or a related field is strongly preferred.
