Job Description
Nursery Worker (Church) Beneficent Congregational Church is a vibrant, progressive church in downtown Providence. Beneficent Church is seeking a self-motivated, part-time Nursery Worker to provide dependable, safe, and nurturing care to children, from infants through pre-school. The Nursery Worker reports to the Director of Christian Education and works cooperatively with the staff team. The Nursery Worker welcomes families to the nursery, helps adults to feel comfortable and confident leaving their children, engages in age-appropriate activities with the children, provides care as needed and maintains a safe and clean environment. The successful candidate will be at least 18 years old and will have experience supervising children for an extended period of time. They will be responsible, trustworthy, and reliable, and able to be friendly, professional, and people-focused. Calm and capable in handling the needs of young children and willing to engage enthusiastically with them in age-appropriate activities. Willingness to support the Beneficent Mission and to abide by the Beneficent Safe Space Policies and Procedures and the Beneficent Relational Covenant. This is a part-time, non-benefited position for 3 hours per week on Sunday mornings starting at 9am, with the opportunity to work during additional worship services and events throughout the year. There may be longer or shorter hours to accommodate the ebb and flow of seasonal demands and church programming.
