Job Description

The Early Head Start Teacher provides a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for infants and toddlers while supporting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Teachers work closely with families and other program staff to support each child's individual needs and school readiness. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care, supervision, and positive guidance for infants and toddlers. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities and learning experiences. Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment. Observe and document children's development and progress. Individualize activities to meet the needs, strengths, and goals of each child, including children with IFSPs. Build positive relationships with parents and families and encourage family involvement. Complete required classroom records, assessments, screenings, and other program documentation. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development. Assist with meals, classroom sanitation, transportation/bus monitoring, and other program needs as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Infant/Toddler CDA or higher early childhood education credential/degree with appropriate infant and toddler coursework. Experience working with infants and toddlers preferred. Ability to effectively supervise and care for infants and toddlers in a classroom environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to meet all Early Head Start, licensing, background check, health, and training requirements.
