Job Description
About This Role As a 4-Year-Old (4K) Teacher, you will create a supportive environment that fosters the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of children. You will develop and implement a curriculum tailored to the needs of enrolled children, preparing them for a seamless transition to kindergarten. The First Steps 4K Program, which offers free tuition for eligible families, relies on dedicated teachers like you to provide a high-quality educational experience. What You'll Do Adhere to the First Steps 4K guidelines to ensure developmentally appropriate lesson plans are implemented
- Engage with individual children during activities and routines in a constructive and supportive manner
- Follow all employer policies and procedures at all times to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Provide effective listening, oral and written communication skills to foster positive relationships
- Attend all required trainings and obtain necessary continuing education hours to stay up-to-date
- Construct lesson plans that reflect observations and assessments of individual children and their goals
- Create a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating professional behavior and ensuring the well-being of students, coworkers, parents, supervisors and the public Requirements At least six months experience in a child care setting
- Able to pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry background check
- Provide a minimum of two references familiar with your work history
- Reliable transportation
- Lead teacher must possess, at minimum, a two-year degree in early childhood education Nice To Haves Knowledge on SCEndeavors/ProSolutions
