9681326-29323 Job Description Inspire and empower young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with diverse needs in a rewarding role based near Chesnee, SC. This full-time, contract opportunity allows you to focus on helping students thrive in either a self-contained classroom at the middle school level or within the elementary setting, with specific caseloads determined upon assignment. Make a meaningful difference in students lives while growing professionally in a collaborative school environment.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid South Carolina certification in Special Education or active pending status. Experience teaching students with learning disabilities and adapting lesson plans for individual needs. Ability to effectively manage a self-contained classroom or work with various elementary caseloads. Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with educators, families, and support staff. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students as outlined in their IEPs, adapting methods to address unique learning needs. Maintain detailed records, track student progress, and communicate regularly with parents and staff. Implement evidence-based strategies to promote academic, emotional, and social growth in students. Manage classroom routines, develop materials, and use assistive technology as appropriate. Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for each learner. Uphold the schools mission and values in daily interactions and professional conduct. This is an onsite-only position, working 37.5 hours per week during the academic year.
