Duties Develop and execute age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, and foundational skills aligned with early childhood education standards. Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development and positive behavior management. Support children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities, by adapting activities and implementing specialized strategies such as Montessori or behavior management techniques. Manage classroom routines effectively, including transitions, meal times, nap times, and outdoor activities. Utilize classroom management skills to maintain discipline and encourage cooperative play among children. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum content that enhances learning experiences across subjects like literacy, math, and early childhood development. Maintain accurate documentation of children's growth, attendance, and behavioral observations in compliance with licensing requirements. Stay current with best practices in early childhood education by participating in ongoing professional development related to special education, toddler care, preschool experience, or working with children with disabilities. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health guidelines and safety protocols. Experience Prior experience working with young children in daycare settings or private schools is highly preferred, but not required. Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement strategies. Familiarity with working with children who have special needs or developmental delays such as autism spectrum disorder or other disabilities is advantageous. Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and support staff professionally and empathetically. Classroom experience involving behavior management techniques and working within licensed childcare environments is desirable. Certification in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; however, relevant experience demonstrating expertise in childcare roles is equally valued.
