We are a luxury family membership club that brings together community, coworking, childcare, and experiences for parents and children. We are building an early childhood education program that doesn't look or feel like a traditional school. Our approach is inspired by Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies , with an emphasis on curiosity, independence, creativity, exploration, and learning through real-world experiences. We are looking for a Lead Teacher who is excited to help build something different. The Role The Lead Teacher will create and lead a nurturing, engaging, and thoughtfully structured environment where young children can learn, explore, and develop at their own pace. This person will be the leader of the classroom—setting the tone, establishing expectations, guiding the teaching approach, and creating an environment where children feel both supported and empowered. You will have the opportunity to help shape what education at Kinry looks like rather than simply following an established playbook. What You'll Do Lead the classroom with confidence, warmth, consistency, and a strong understanding of early childhood development. Create an engaging, child-centered environment inspired by Reggio Emilia and Montessori principles. Develop experiences and activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, independence, problem-solving, and social-emotional development. Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, organized, beautiful, and intentionally designed for exploration. Observe children closely and use those observations to guide activities, interactions, and individual learning. Establish clear classroom expectations while allowing children appropriate freedom to explore and discover. Build genuine relationships with each child and understand their individual personality, interests, strengths, and needs. Communicate thoughtfully and consistently with parents, creating a high level of trust and partnership. Collaborate with other Kinry team members to create a cohesive experience for children and families. Help evolve Kinry's educational philosophy, curriculum, routines, and classroom practices as the program grows. Maintain required documentation and follow all applicable health, safety, and licensing requirements. Who You Are A credentialed or certified early childhood educator/teacher with the qualifications required to lead an early childhood classroom in South Carolina. Experienced working with young children and confident taking ownership of a classroom. Someone with a strong command of the classroom who can create structure without being rigid. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, Montessori, play-based, experiential, or other progressive approaches to early childhood education. Warm, patient, energetic, and genuinely excited to spend your days with young children. An excellent communicator who can develop strong, trusting relationships with parents. Curious and willing to question whether there is a better way to do things. Comfortable in an environment where not everything is already figured out. Adaptable, entrepreneurial, and energized by change. Highly observant with an exceptional eye for detail. Someone who can balance freedom and structure —creating an environment that feels natural and unstructured while still being purposeful and well managed. The Kinry Mindset We aren't looking for someone who simply wants to run the same classroom they've run everywhere else. We want an educator who believes there is a better, more human way to educate young children. Kinry is a new kind of environment, and that means the right person will need to be comfortable experimenting, adapting, building, and changing course when something isn't working. If you are an exceptional early childhood educator who wants to be part of creating something genuinely different, we'd love to meet you.
