Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-time Child Care Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and attentive supervision. Implement classroom activities as outlined by the curriculum B. Adhere to all ABC Childcare regulations and goals associated with the program C. Actively interact with and encourage children's involvement with activities D. Ensure a clean, appealing, stimulating and safe environment E. Use appropriate and positive discipline as outlined in the Discipline Behavior Policy F. Observe, record, and report significant individual and group behavior G. Establish, maintain, and interact sensitively and supportively with parents, children and staff H. Attend staff meetings, workshops, and planned events for children I. Maintain a clean classroom J. Other duties as assigned Position Requirements A. High School diploma or equivalent B. Supervised experience in a documented licensed child care facility C. ECD 101, or willing to enroll within 6 months of employment D. 15 hours of health & safety training E. Evidence of emotional maturity, stability, and work ethics F. Evidence of sufficient security and judgment to handle crisis situations and to use supervision constructively G. Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment suitable for varying ages of children enrolled in the center H.Ability to act as a mediator between children I. Prior to employment, employee must submit a dated report of satisfactory tuberculin test J . Submit a dated medical statement signed by a licensed physician, licensed nurse practitioner, or licensed physician's assistant verifying the potential employee suffers no emotional illness or condition which would adversely affect child care. A subsequent statement is required every four years K. Be able to safely lift 40+/- lbs. L. First Aid/CPR certification M. Criminal background, fingerprint, and central registry for child abuse & neglect checks Knowledge Required A. SC rules and regulations regarding licensed day care centers B. Pilgrims' Inn and Open Arms policies/procedures for employees and program operations C. Knowledge and experience working with children Skills required A. Ability and desire to work with children in a developmentally appropriate setting B. Strong communication skills C.
