Our goal is to support the whole child by providing developmentally appropriate experiences that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. We are currently seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Child Care Assistant Director to lead the daily operations of our center in Hendersonville, TN. Position Overview The Child Care Asst. Director is responsible in the assisting of the overall leadership and day-to-day operation of the center. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for children, families, and staff as well as serve as the primary support for the center teachers. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is organized, dependable, approachable, and passionate about early childhood education. The Assistant Director should be comfortable managing staff, communicating with families, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and creating a positive culture within the center. Responsibilities Assist the Director in the overseeing of the daily operations of the child care center and ensure the center runs safely and efficiently. Create and maintain a warm, nurturing, and positive environment for children and staff. Lead, support, and supervise child care staff, including scheduling, coaching, training, and performance management. Build positive, respectful relationships with enrolled families and maintain open communication. Address parent, staff, and classroom concerns promptly, professionally, and appropriately. Ensure children receive high-quality care that supports their social, emotional, physical, and developmental needs. Oversee the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum, activities, and learning experiences. Ensure classrooms and programs meet established quality and safety standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for children and the center. Monitor attendance, staffing, ratios, classroom organization, and daily center needs. Support staff in creating age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, exploration, creativity, and self-expression. Assist families with accessing appropriate community resources when needed. Communicate center policies, procedures, expectations, and updates effectively with staff and families. Help maintain compliance with applicable state child care licensing requirements and regulations. Promote a positive team culture built on collaboration, professionalism, respect, and accountability. Respond to emergencies, challenges, and unexpected situations in a calm and timely manner. Represent Tots' Spot Academy in a professional and positive manner within the Sumner County community. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and make sound decisions in a busy child care environment. Commitment to providing high-quality care and creating a positive experience for families. Previous child care leadership or management experience preferred. Knowledge of Tennessee child care licensing requirements preferred.
