Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Toddler and Infant Lead Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will lead a classroom of young children, fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. Your expertise in Montessori methods will guide children through age-appropriate activities that support their developmental milestones, social skills, and early literacy and numeracy skills. Duties Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate Montessori-based lessons tailored to toddler-aged children. Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence. Observe and assess each child's progress, documenting developmental milestones and adjusting activities accordingly. Foster positive behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and self-regulation among children. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, needs, and achievements through meetings and written updates. Maintain classroom organization, including lesson plans, activity materials, and safety protocols in compliance with childcare standards. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements that incorporate early intervention strategies, literacy education, and social-emotional learning. Skills Strong knowledge of child development principles specific to toddlers and early childhood education. Experience working with children in classroom or daycare settings, especially within Montessori environments. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing educational activities for young learners. Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork with colleagues. Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for toddlers to foster positive behavior. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations. Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional credentials in special education or early intervention are a plus. Ability to manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining a nurturing atmosphere focused on childhood development milestones.
