PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies, executive functions and skills to function successfully in society.QUALIFICATIONS
EducationCertification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subjectlevel assignedSpecial KnowledgeSkills:
Knowledge subjects assigned General knowledge curriculum and instruction Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience:
At least one year student teaching or approved internshipMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Strategies . Develop and implement lesson plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence preparation as required. . Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences and develop the executive functions for the students. . Plan work cycles to expand logic and influence students' natural curiosities towards learning. . Optimize the stimulating environment at the Academy to facilitate student growth, exploration, and participation. . Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations. . Plan and use appropriate instructionallearning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs students assigned. . Plan, prepare, and maintain all units study•including materials, thematic units, books, etc. . Conduct assessment student learning styles, student executive function development and use results to appropriately lesson plan for instructional activities. . Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established by Individual Education Plans (IEP). LB Pre-Kindergarten Teacher (LB) Early Learning Academy . Cooperate with other members the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements. . Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aides(s)andor volunteer(s). . Use technologies and optimize the Fueling Brains application for the teachinglearning process. Student Growth and Development . Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits study. . Provide opportunities to enhance independence and analytical thinking. . Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing, regular Fueling Brains assessments at prescribed frequencies and use results to plan instructional activities. . Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and may sponsor outside activities approved by the school. . Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission the school district. . Classroom Management and Organization . Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development students. . Facilitate a respectful environment for students by advocating conflict resolution and Grace and Courtesy lessons . Use observations to plan extensions scaffolding on learning based on the students' needs. . Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board policies, administrative regulations, and IEP. . Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. . Assist in the selection books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Communication . Establish and maintain open lines communication with students and their parents and educate parents in the Fueling Brains system. . Develop a positive relationship with each student and promote the development self-esteem and self-discipline. . Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members. . Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. Professional Growth and Development . Carefully observe and keep records on each student's individual progression through the classroom. . Participate in the district staff development program. . Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement. . Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Policy Implementation . Keep informed and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. . Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required. . Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required. LB Pre-Kindergarten Teacher (LB) Early Learning Academy Other .
