This is an excellent opportunity for a college or high school student, or anyone seeking meaningful part-time work for a few hours each afternoon. Working alongside experienced Montessori Guides and classroom team members, you will help provide a calm, caring, safe, and engaging environment for young children while giving families peace of mind. If this is you, we want you on our STEAMspark team. We are seeking PM (Afternoon) Floaters to support Montessori Lead Guides in establishing and maintaining peaceful Montessori environments. Floaters may be assigned to different classrooms based on daily staffing and program needs. Role & Responsibilities Support the "spark" in the classroom. Complete school-sponsored AMS Montessori training and other required professional development. Support a peaceful multi-age classroom environment that promotes children's physical, social, emotional, and developmental growth. Support the implementation of Montessori philosophy and curriculum under the direction of Montessori Lead Guides. Assist with lessons and classroom activities that accommodate differences in children's developmental levels and learning styles. Introduce resources, including technology, only at the direction of the Montessori Lead Guide. Assist Montessori Lead Guides in maintaining an engaging, inviting, orderly, and respectful classroom environment. Follow classroom management procedures and school standards for appropriate student behavior. Establish and maintain open, professional communication with Montessori Lead Guides and other members of the classroom team. Assist with afternoon routines, transitions, supervision, and preparation of the classroom environment. Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly classroom. Provide support across Nido, Toddler, and Primary classrooms as assigned based on program needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a classroom team. Interest in working with young children in a Montessori learning environment. Physical Requirements Able to sit on the floor and work at child level while assisting with lessons and classroom activities. Able to lift at least 25 pounds. Able to move throughout classroom and outdoor environments while supervising and supporting children. Compensation $14.40 to $17.60 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications. STEAMspark is also a candidate for AMS School Accreditation and is fully accredited through Cognia, including NCA CASI, NWAC, and
SACS CASI.
