Job Description

Overview Helotes Hills United Methodist Church (HHUMC) is a welcoming and vibrant community of faith. We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing individual to join our team as a part-time Sunday Nursery/Childcare Worker. Three (3) hours per week is the minimum; there are opportunities for more hours depending on church activities and holidays that provide childcare for parents. This position involves working with young children, including infants and toddlers, and requires a strong commitment to their development and well-being. The Nursery Worker will engage with children in various activities, ensuring their safety and fostering their growth through play and learning. Duties Provide a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for children of all ages. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and games. Assist with diaper changes and feedings as needed. Communicate effectively with parents and church staff. Adhere to all safety regulations and policies. Requirements Minimum age 18 years old Available Sundays 8:30am to 11:30am. Church holidays (e.g., Easter and Christmas) are crucial times. Experience working with young children, preferably in a childcare setting. CPR and First Aid certification. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Must complete Safe Gatherings training within first 30 days of employment.
