Job Description

Are you a dynamic early childhood leader looking to help launch a brand-new center? Dreamland Academy is seeking an Assistant Director to join our founding team. In this role, you'll support the Director/Owner with daily operations, licensing compliance, enrollment, staff supervision, and family engagement. About Dreamland Academy Dreamland Academy is a nurturing early learning center where children are encouraged to grow, dream, and thrive in a safe, imaginative environment . As the second location in the Dreamland family, our program focuses on play-based learning, creativity, school readiness, motor development, and strong family partnerships. Founded by a pediatric occupational therapist, Dreamland takes a developmental approach to early childhood education, creating intentional learning environments that support each child's individual growth. Responsibilities Assist the Director with overseeing daily center operations and maintaining compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing standards Support, supervise, and provide guidance to teaching staff Assist with staff onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management Help maintain a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture Monitor classrooms to ensure appropriate supervision, classroom management, curriculum implementation, and quality standards Support enrollment, family communication, student records, and administrative responsibilities Assist with Texas Rising Star and other quality improvement initiatives Step into classrooms when needed to provide support, coaching, or ratio coverage Help ensure the center remains organized, welcoming, safe, and prepared for licensing visits and inspections Serve as acting leadership when the Director is unavailable Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old High school diploma or equivalent required Must meet Texas Child Care Licensing requirements applicable to the position CDA or college-level coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field required CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain Must be able to pass all required background checks Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education preferred Previous childcare leadership, administrative, or supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Dependable, professional, proactive, and comfortable providing staff direction and accountability Ability to work collaboratively with the Director while independently managing assigned responsibilities What We Offer Paid Time Off Health insurance options 401(k) plan Professional development and leadership growth opportunities Supportive, family-centered work environment Opportunity to play an important leadership role in the opening and growth of a new early learning center
