Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Our program participates in the Texas Rising Star (TRS) Program and is committed to continuous quality improvement in curriculum, classroom environments, teacher-child interactions, family engagement, and professional development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development and a commitment to fostering a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment. This role supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through intentional play-based learning and consistent implementation of the Frog Street curriculum. As a ministry of Joshua Methodist Church, JUMPS provides a Christ-centered preschool environment where Christian values, Bible stories, prayer, songs, and opportunities for spiritual growth are incorporated into the children's daily experience. Deliver developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote exploration, curiosity, and early skill development through purposeful play and hands-on experiences. Support JUMPS' Christ-centered mission by incorporating age-appropriate Christian values, Bible stories, prayer, songs, and spiritual learning opportunities into daily classroom experiences. Maintain active supervision of children at all times, including during classroom activities, meals, rest time, outdoor play, restroom routines, and transitions, while maintaining required staff-to-child ratios. Observe and document children's developmental progress and participate in JUMPS' developmental screening and assessment practices, including use of the CIRCLE Developmental Milestone Checklist. Maintain open, respectful, and professional communication with parents/guardians through ClassDojo , conferences, daily communication, and other JUMPS-approved communication methods. Foster positive relationships with children to support social interaction, emotional development, and independence. Use positive, developmentally appropriate guidance and behavior-support strategies, including observation, redirection, identification of patterns or triggers, and collaboration with families and the Preschool Director when additional support is needed. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support continuous quality improvement and consistent classroom practices. Maintain accurate records related to attendance, developmental observations, incident reports, and compliance requirements. Participate in required trainings, professional development, and ongoing curriculum and quality initiatives. Experience Previous experience working in childcare or early childhood education is required. Previous experience specifically working with toddlers is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices. Experience using positive, developmentally appropriate guidance and behavior-support strategies with young children. Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills. Ability and willingness to consistently follow JUMPS curriculum, classroom procedures, licensing requirements, and quality standards. Willingness and ability to complete all required Texas Child Care Licensing, JUMPS, curriculum, health and safety, and professional development training (training provided). CPR / First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Pay:
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour Application Question(s): Are you willing and able to work as a floater, assisting in different classrooms and covering various shifts based on staffing needs and child-to-teacher ratios?
