Type:
full-time What you will doWalk the work every shift while on site and verify installation against the current drawings, approved submittals and the inspection and test plan.
Track daily production: trunks pulled, cassettes landed, terminations made, tests passed. Report actuals against plan to your Project Manager.
Confirm material drawn from staging matches the register before it goes in.
Spot field conflicts early and raise RFIs in Procore with photos and markups.
Witness contractor testing as directed by the QA/QC Manager and log every failure and re-test.
Keep redlines current so as-builts and labeling records (ANSI/TIA-606) are accurate at turnover.
Run the shift handoff with your opposite number so nothing is lost between day and night.
Enforce site safety rules within the LV work area and stop work when conditions require it.
Write the daily report: manpower, production, constraints, safety, photos.
What you bring5+ years in low voltage field work, including 2+ as lead, foreman, field engineer or superintendent.
Data center fiber experience: high-count trunks, MPO/MTP, cassettes, polarity, and OTDR and power meter results you can read and challenge.
Able to read and mark up construction drawings without help.
Procore and Bluebeam on a tablet in the field.
OSHA 10; OSHA 30 within six months of start.
Able to travel for extended site assignments, work a 12-hour shift rotation on an active construction site and lift up to 40 lb.
PreferredBICSI Technician or Installer 2 (Optical Fiber), RTPM, or manufacturer certifications (Corning, CommScope, Panduit).Prior owner's-rep or general contractor field role.
Experience on a multi-shift hyperscale or AI compute build.
Location and travelRemote home base (US), with travel assignments to the project site in Mason County, West Virginia during install windows. Travel and lodging covered per EIG policy.
