Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early literacy, social-emotional skills, motor development, and cognitive growth. Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies to encourage cooperation and emotional regulation. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share updates on their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns. Maintain detailed documentation of child development progress, incident reports, and classroom activities in compliance with mandated reporting laws. Collaborate with colleagues to plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical education, arts, and basic math concepts suitable for young children. Ensure classroom safety standards are met at all times by adhering to health guidelines such as first aid and CPR protocols. Experience Prior experience working directly with infants and toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting is essential. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and special education practices. Proven ability to develop curriculum content that supports literacy education, math readiness, and physical activity for young children. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment through effective behavior management techniques. Experience communicating effectively with parents and families about their child's progress and developmental needs. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations in early childhood education. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in early childhood education or preschool teaching are highly desirable.
