We are seeking someone who enjoys working with young children and is committed to helping create a safe, nurturing, organized, and engaging classroom environment. The Teacher Assistant will work closely with the lead Pre-K teacher to support daily routines, developmentally appropriate learning activities, school-readiness skills, and each child's overall development.

Starting Pay:

$13.00 per hour, depending on experience Daily Responsibilities Assist the lead Pre-K teacher with daily classroom routines, lesson plans, and learning activities Promote positive interactions that encourage play, exploration, learning, and independence Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development Assist with circle time, small-group activities, learning centers, art projects, and school-readiness activities Help children develop positive behavior, communication, social skills, independence, and self-help skills Maintain active supervision of children at all times Support children during meals, restroom breaks, rest time, outdoor play, and classroom transitions Prepare classroom materials and help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment Build positive and professional relationships with children and families Greet children and families warmly and professionally Follow center policies, classroom procedures, lesson plans, and Texas child care licensing requirements Work cooperatively with the lead teacher, coworkers, and administration Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Prior childcare or classroom experience preferred Preschool or Pre-K experience is a plus Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices preferred Must be able to follow lesson plans, classroom schedules, routines, and teacher direction Must be caring, patient, dependable, and team-oriented Must enjoy working with preschool-age children Must be able to pass all required criminal background checks and FBI fingerprinting requirements Must provide a valid form of identification and required employment documentation CPR/First Aid certification preferred; training can be scheduled if needed Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a professional attitude are required Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, sit on the floor, stand, and actively engage with children throughout the day Must be able to supervise children in a fast-paced classroom environment both indoors and outdoors Must be able to participate in classroom activities, outdoor play, and daily transitions Schedule Full-time, Monday through Friday Regular shift: 8:30 AM-5:30 PM Rotating closing shift until 6:00 PM every 3 weeks Benefits 12 paid holidays per year Holiday pay begins after successful completion of the 90-day introductory period 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of employment Opportunities for professional growth Employee childcare discount Additional Information All new hires are subject to a 90-day introductory period , during which attendance, performance, dependability, and overall job suitability will be evaluated Paid holiday eligibility begins after successful completion of the 90-day introductory period Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential because classroom staffing and child-to-caregiver ratios depend on employees arriving and returning from breaks on time This is an active classroom position that requires hands-on participation throughout the day Apply Today If you are passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and prepare for kindergarten while being part of a supportive childcare team, we would love to hear from you.
