Job Description

Position Overview The Early Childhood Directress is responsible for leading a Montessori classroom serving children ages 3-6. This role involves guiding children's academic, social, and emotional development using Montessori principles, maintaining a prepared environment, and fostering independence, curiosity, and respect. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain a clean, orderly, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment Present individual and small-group lessons using Montessori materials across practical life, sensorial, language, math, and cultural areas Observe and assess each child's progress and tailor instruction to meet individual needs Foster a calm, respectful classroom culture that supports independence and self-discipline Maintain accurate student records, including observations and progress reports Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, reports, and informal updates Collaborate with assistants and support staff to ensure a cohesive classroom experience Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events Qualifications Montessori Early Childhood Certification AMI or AMS preferred) Bachelor's degree required Minimum 2 years of experience in a Montessori early childhood classroom Strong understanding of child development and Montessori philosophy Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism Preferred Skills Classroom leadership and conflict resolution Parent engagement and community building Record-keeping and student assessment Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom setting
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
