As enrollment grows, we expect to hire for a variety of classroom roles, including Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Floaters , depending on experience, availability, and staffing needs. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join a growing center from the beginning, help shape a positive classroom culture, and have the opportunity to grow into additional responsibility and leadership roles as Kolibri Academy expands. A Little About Kolibri Kolibri Academy is a family-owned early learning center with many years of childcare experience serving children beginning at 12 months old. Our STEAM-focused program combines hands-on learning, purposeful play, creativity, early science and math exploration, language development, movement, and social-emotional learning. We want children to ask questions, try things, build, create, explore, and most importantly, enjoy being kids. We are creating a school where children feel cared for, families feel welcome, and teachers feel supported and valued. What Your Days May Look Like Playing, exploring, building, creating, singing, and getting a little messy Lead or assist with age-appropriate learning activities and circle time Helping children develop independence, confidence, and friendships Spending time outside and encouraging movement and active play Creating a classroom that feels safe, inviting, organized, and fun Supporting meals, transitions, diapering or toileting, and everyday routines Building positive relationships with children and families Working alongside a supportive teaching team Following Texas childcare licensing requirements and maintaining active supervision Participating in training and professional development What We're Looking For At least 18 years old A high school graduate or have a GED Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoy working with children Comfortable being active, playful, and engaged throughout the day A positive team member who communicates well with families and coworkers Able to successfully pass all required childcare background checks and fingerprinting Comfortable working with children ages 12 months and older Able to perform the physical responsibilities of the position, including sitting on the floor, kneeling, standing, bending, and lifting or carrying children as needed Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or early childhood experience is preferred, but we're open to meeting the right person who is excited to learn and grow. Texas Child Care Regulation training, CPR/First Aid certification, CDA credentials, or Early Childhood Education coursework are all a plus. Required training can be provided if needed. Pay $15-$20 per hour, based on position, experience, and qualifications.
