This position requires a caring and attentive teacher who understands that children at this age depend on consistent caregivers to meet their physical, emotional, developmental, and safety needs. The teacher is responsible for providing high-quality care while maintaining a clean, organized classroom and following all center policies, licensing requirements, daily schedules, and procedures. Teachers must actively supervise children at all times and work cooperatively with administration, coworkers, and families. Responsibilities Provide warm, nurturing, and responsive care to each child throughout the day. Maintain active supervision at all times , including during play, feeding, diapering, sleeping, transitions, and outdoor activities. Know the number and location of children in your care at all times and maintain required child-to-caregiver ratios. Follow all Texas Child Care Regulation Minimum Standards and center policies regarding the care and supervision of infants and toddlers. Follow each child's individual feeding, sleeping, diapering, and care schedule as required. Properly prepare, label, store, handle, and serve bottles, breast milk, formula, food, and other feeding items according to center procedures. Feed infants only in approved feeding equipment and never prop bottles or leave a child unattended while eating. Change diapers promptly and follow required diaper-changing, handwashing, sanitation, and infection-control procedures every time. Document bottles, meals, diaper changes, naps, activities, and other required information accurately and on time. Follow safe-sleep practices for infants, including placing infants on their backs to sleep and maintaining safe, approved sleep environments. Frequently check sleeping children and follow all center safe-sleep supervision procedures. Provide age-appropriate tummy time, floor play, sensory experiences, language activities, music, books, fine-motor activities, and opportunities for physical development. Talk, sing, read, and interact with children throughout the day to encourage language, social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Respond appropriately and promptly to crying and other cues. Children should be comforted and their needs assessed rather than ignored. Encourage secure attachments through consistent, positive interactions. Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom, including toys, equipment, feeding areas, highchairs, changing areas, floors, and frequently touched surfaces. Follow the center's required procedures and approved products for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting. Immediately remove mouthed or contaminated toys from circulation until they have been properly cleaned and sanitized. Keep cribs, play areas, walkways, and evacuation routes free of unnecessary items and hazards. Complete daily health and safety observations and report concerns, injuries, illnesses, unusual behaviors, or developmental concerns to administration. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents while maintaining confidentiality. Never use yelling, threatening, shaming, physical punishment, rough handling, or inappropriate discipline. Use positive, age-appropriate guidance and redirection. Participate in classroom activities rather than relying on containers or restrictive equipment to occupy children. Maintain required classroom records, attendance, documentation, and supplies. Follow emergency procedures and be prepared to safely evacuate all children in the classroom. Work cooperatively with other teachers and maintain professional communication with coworkers and administration. Attend required meetings, training, professional development, CPR/First Aid training, and other required certifications. Arrive on time and remain dependable and attentive throughout the scheduled shift. Keep personal cell phone use and other distractions away from the classroom while responsible for children. Protect the confidentiality and privacy of all children and families. Immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, unsafe practices, or licensing concerns as required by law and center policy. Perform all assigned responsibilities and any other duties reasonably requested by the Director or administration. Skills Patient, nurturing, dependable, and attentive. Ability to remain calm and professional when children are crying, upset, or require significant attention. Ability to manage the needs of multiple infants or toddlers while maintaining active supervision. Ability to follow written schedules, policies, lesson plans, and administrative directions. Ability to document children's daily care accurately. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a classroom and center team. Good judgment and the ability to recognize potential health and safety hazards. Dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance. Willingness to receive feedback, training, and coaching from administration. Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, stand, reach, and move throughout the classroom as necessary to care for children. Ability to safely lift and carry infants and toddlers and assist with routine caregiving activities. Pay:
