Job Description

Location Federal Programs Reference # 2027-467B Close Date 10/14/2026 Summary Under the supervision of the Community Center Coordinator or Community Schools Director, the Baby and You Early Childhood Assistant prepares and conducts developmentally appropriate child enrichment activities for children ages birth through five while parents and caregivers participate in Baby and You classes. The assistant also prepares materials, supports volunteers, and assists with family engagement and connections to school and community resources. This individual will be housed at the Davis Community Learning Center. Description Classified position is announced to all qualified applicants. Applications must be submitted no later than Wednesday, October 14, 2026. 15 hours per week/140 days per year / Salary Grade 6 - $19.98 per hour (Support Salary Table 2026-27)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Plans, prepares, and conducts developmentally appropriate, play-based learning activities aligned with the Utah Early Learning Standards during Baby and You classes.
  • Maintains a safe, welcoming, and nurturing learning environment; supervises children and follows district health and safety procedures.
  • Prepares lesson plans, classroom materials, learning supplies, take-home activities, parent resources, and the classroom environment.
  • Sets up and cleans up supplies, equipment, snacks, and learning areas before and after program activities.
  • Coordinates, trains, schedules, and supports classroom volunteers.
  • Builds positive relationships with children and families from varied cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Assists with family outreach, community engagement, and connections to school and community resources, including assigned case-management activities.
  • Travels between district program sites and performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Experience working with young children and families preferred
