A Preschool or Childcare Teacher works with young children, usually ages 3 - 5, to help them learn the social, motor and language skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and elementary school. Organizes activities and uses play or games to help children learn; develops schedules and routines for children that include exercise and rest. Works in a school or in a childcare center or program.

Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with an Infant/Toddler endorsement, or be willing to obtain the credential within the required timeframe. Equivalent early childhood education coursework that meets Head Start requirements may also be considered. Deliver safe and developmentally appropriate learning experiences through active supervision that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Create a culture of safety by effectively implementing and maintaining classroom curriculum, routines, and assessments Engage families as active partners in their child development through communication, home visits, conferences, and transition plans Ensure inclusive learning by supporting children with special needs or IEPs and implementing positive support plans in alignment with program policies Collaborate with teaching staff to strengthen classroom practices and overall program quality Who we are: Rural Utah Child Development (RUCD) is a comprehensive child development program designed to meet the educational, emotional, social, and health needs of children. The RUCD team works well together to provide strong support and leadership, creating a consistent and quality learning environment.
