JOB SUMMARY
Positive Support for Children with Autism (PSCA) is a preschool licensed by the Virginia Department of Education for the therapeutic enrichment and support of students ages 2 1/2- 6 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Using the principles of applied behavioral analysis (ABA), our School Readiness Program provides early intervention services under the supervision of licensed teachers and Board Certified Behavior Analysts. We are seeking a Preschool Teacher to work at our Hampton, VA location. A qualified Preschool Teacher must have:
- At least a Bachelor's Degree in any field. (Required)
- A current teaching license (Preferred)
- At least one year of professional experience in teaching, counseling, social work, nursing, and/or case management. (Required)
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification or ability to complete independently within the first 60 days of employment (required)
- Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with young children with autism and/or other intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to walk, run and play active games with small children.
- Ability to operate the basic functions of an IPad and/or laptop, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to consistently maintain a high level of professionalism including punctuality, effective time manager, and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Ability to efficiently collect and record data and to effectively implement treatment plans created by the Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBA).
