Lead Teacher | Founding Team at a Reggio-Inspired School Little Wings Early Learning Academy is a new early childhood school in Everett where children are viewed as capable, curious, and full of ideas. Our program is inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, and grounded in respectful, relationship-based practices that support children's curiosity, independence, creativity, and social-emotional development. We are seeking passionate and experienced Lead Teachers with a strong understanding of child development and a commitment to creating warm, engaging classroom communities where children feel known, valued, and supported. Teachers observe children closely and use their interests, questions, development, and emerging ideas to guide meaningful learning experiences. As a founding member of our teaching team, you will help shape the culture and community of Little Wings from the beginning. Teachers are supported through mentorship, weekly paid planning time, collaboration, new hire training, and ongoing professional development. Responsibilities Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes trust, respect, independence, and exploration Build strong, responsive relationships with children, families, and colleagues Observe children closely and use observations to guide curriculum planning and emerging investigations Design meaningful experiences that encourage inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving Document children's learning through observations, photographs, and other forms of documentation Support children's social-emotional development through respectful, responsive guidance Collaborate with colleagues through planning, reflection, and shared problem-solving Communicate professionally with families about children's development and classroom experiences Participate in professional development and the continued growth of the school Follow Washington State DCYF licensing requirements and Little Wings Early Learning Academy policies and procedures Requirements To be successful as a Lead Teacher, you should have: A minimum of two years of experience working with young children in a lead teaching role Strong knowledge of child development and high-quality early childhood practices Strong emotional responsiveness toward children and colleagues A flexible and reflective mindset Experience with or openness to a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach Strong written and verbal communication skills The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Dependability, professionalism, and strong problem-solving skills Ability to meet all Washington State DCYF licensing requirements for the position Pay and Benefits $25.00-$27.00 per hour, based on education and experience Full-time, 40 hours per week Weekly paid planning time Paid time off and paid holidays Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Health savings account Life insurance Tuition reimbursement Professional development assistance Childcare discount Little Wings Early Learning Academy maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace.
