ABOUT THE ROLE

This is not a typical teaching-only or management-only position. It is a hands-on, dual role for a motivated educator who brings a fresh perspective to the team, a proactive mindset to every challenge, and a genuine desire for meaningful collaboration with colleagues and families. As Lead Teacher and Assistant Director simultaneously, you will be in the classroom every day while supporting operations and building strong bridges between families, staff, and leadership.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Credentials & Compliance State Certificate (45 Credits) in Early Childhood Education, or actively working toward it Minimum 2 years of lead teacher experience in a licensed childcare facility Meets all DCYF licensing requirements: criminal background check, fingerprinting, and facility staff standards Age 21 or older Current certifications: CPR/AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Handler Skills & Qualities Deep passion for children, early childhood education, and family engagement Exceptional multitasking and problem-solving skills; you can hold a classroom and handle an operational issue with ease Strong written communication skills - able to guide, inspire, and support staff at all levels Outstanding interpersonal skills with families - warm, clear, and proactive Genuine appetite for management responsibilities alongside daily teaching Familiarity with DCYF licensing, compliance, and accreditation standards preferred
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Classroom & Program Lead and maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging classroom every day Oversee planning and execution of curriculum in toddler classrooms Establish a safe, healthy, and welcoming classroom setting and oversee programs and activities to engage and educate young children Ensure timely, proactive communication with families via the ProCare appTeam Leadership & Mentorship Mentor and support teachers for continuous professional growth Help bridge communication between the teaching staff and management Plan and communicate staff schedules Assist with onboarding new staff Foster a collaborative, high-retention team culture rooted in trust and accountability Operations & Compliance Ensure full compliance with DCYF licensing, safety, sanitation, and corporate standards Maintain accurate records: Students/Staff files Meet or exceed enrollment and financial goals Participate in family tours, marketing events, campaigns, and community relations as needed
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
