The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children can grow spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. This individual will partner with families to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning while modeling Christian values in every aspect of the classroom. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate, hands-on lessons that encourage curiosity and a love of learning. Follow the Abeka Preschool curriculum to provide a strong biblical and academic foundation through engaging, hands-on instruction. Foster a warm, safe, and welcoming classroom environment. Integrate biblical principles and Christian character into daily lessons and classroom interactions. Support each child's spiritual, intellectual, creative, physical, social, and emotional development. Establish consistent classroom routines and positive behavior expectations. Observe and assess student progress while maintaining accurate records. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student development and classroom activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning environment. Collaborate with administration and fellow staff members to support school goals. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and parent conferences. Follow all Washington State licensing requirements and school policies regarding health, safety, and child supervision. Qualifications A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with Christian values. Agreement with the mission and statement of faith of Hosanna Christian School. Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and coworkers. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience in a preschool or early childhood setting. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices. Physical Requirements Frequently bend, kneel, squat, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
