Position Description We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Daycare Teacher with Montessori experience to join our team in Issaquah. This is a great opportunity for an early childhood educator who enjoys creating a warm, engaging environment where children can learn through exploration, hands-on activities, and meaningful everyday experiences. The ideal candidate has experience working in a Montessori or Montessori-inspired classroom and understands the importance of independence, practical life skills, child-led learning, and respecting each child's individual pace of development. As a Teacher, you will create a safe and nurturing classroom, plan developmentally appropriate activities, observe children's interests and progress, and build positive relationships with children and their families. You will work closely with other teachers and the Director as part of a supportive and collaborative team. This position reports to the Director. Key Responsibilities Create a safe, caring, organized, and engaging classroom environment. Plan and lead developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning activities. Incorporate Montessori principles , including independence, practical life skills, exploration, and child-led learning. Observe children's interests and developmental progress and adapt activities to meet individual needs. Encourage positive social-emotional development, self-help skills, and respectful interactions. Maintain positive and professional communication with parents and families. Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to provide consistent, high-quality care. Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization and follow all center policies, licensing requirements, and state regulations. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Montessori classroom experience. 1-2 years of professional childcare or early childhood education experience preferred. Good understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Caring, patient, energetic, and dependable, with a genuine interest in working with young children. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain required certification. Must successfully complete required background checks and health screening. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Early Childhood Education coursework, Montessori training, or Montessori certification is a plus, but formal Montessori certification is not required for candidates with relevant classroom experience.
