Pay:

• 20.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Schedule:
• Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The New School at Chambers Bay is growing, and we are looking for passionate educators to join our team. We are currently hiring for the following positions:
• Preschool Lead Teacher
• Assistant Toddler Teacher
• Assistant Infant Teacher Our school serves children from six weeks through school age in a warm, relationship-based environment where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive. We are looking for team members who are dependable, energetic, nurturing, and committed to providing high-quality care and education.
• Responsibilities
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Participate in daily routines, including meals, diapering, toileting, naps, and transitions as needed
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and experiences
• Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation
• Follow all licensing, health, safety, and sanitation requirements
• Collaborate with administration and teaching teams
• Support positive behavior guidance and classroom management strategies
• Qualifications
• Required:
• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a DCYF background check
• 30-Hour STARS training (or willingness to complete)
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Food Handler Permit (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable attendance and strong communication skills

Preferred:

• Experience in a childcare or early learning setting
• ECE Certificate, or willingness to pursue one
• Experience with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children
• Familiarity with Early Achievers, curriculum planning, or child development
• Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, carry, and assist children weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to repeatedly bend, squat, kneel, sit on the floor, and stand throughout the workday
• Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors for extended periods
• Ability to move quickly in response to children's behavior and safety needs
• Ability to safely assist children onto changing tables, playground equipment, cots, and other classroom furnishings
• Ability to push strollers, move classroom equipment, and participate in daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks
• Ability to visually and audibly supervise children at all times
• Ability to respond appropriately during emergencies, including evacuations and drills
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
