Toddler Child Care Teacher Position Overview We are seeking a caring, energetic, dependable, and patient Toddler Child Care Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. The Toddler Teacher supports each child's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development while helping toddlers build independence, confidence, and positive relationships. The ideal candidate understands that toddlerhood is a busy and exciting stage of development and is prepared to provide plenty of encouragement, consistency, movement, play, and hands-on learning throughout the day. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing care and supervision to toddlers throughout the day. Maintain a safe, welcoming, clean, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Implement engaging activities that encourage learning through play, exploration, music, art, sensory experiences, movement, and social interaction. Support the development of language, communication, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving, and independence. Establish consistent classroom routines and provide age-appropriate expectations and guidance. Use positive guidance techniques to help children develop emotional regulation, appropriate social skills, and positive behaviors. Assist children with diapering, toilet learning, handwashing, dressing, meals, snacks, and other daily care routines. Follow all health, sanitation, diapering, food safety, and classroom cleaning procedures. Supervise children closely and maintain required staff-to-child ratios at all times. Observe children's development and communicate concerns or important milestones to appropriate staff and families. Build positive, professional relationships with parents and guardians and communicate regularly about their child's day. Maintain accurate attendance, incident, meal, diapering, and other required records. Work cooperatively with co-teachers, support staff, administrators, and other members of the child care team. Prepare and organize classroom materials and maintain an inviting learning environment. Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and center activities. Follow all center policies and applicable Wisconsin child care licensing requirements. Respond appropriately to emergencies, injuries, illnesses, and other situations involving children's health and safety. Perform additional duties as needed to support the classroom and child care center. Qualifications Must meet all applicable state licensing requirements for the position. Previous experience working with toddlers or young children is preferred. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices is preferred. Must demonstrate patience, compassion, dependability, professionalism, and good judgment. Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, co-workers, and supervisors. Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the changing needs of young children. Must complete required training, background checks, certifications, and continuing education. Physical Requirements The Toddler Teacher must be able to actively participate in the care and supervision of young children. This may include frequently standing, walking, bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, reaching, and moving throughout the classroom and outdoor play areas. The employee must also be able to lift and carry children and classroom materials as necessary. Pay:
