Monday-Friday Location:
Huntington, WV Pay:
$12.00-$15.00 per hour Job Summary Our Infant Teachers provide loving, attentive care while creating a safe and engaging environment for infants to learn and grow. This position involves following each child's individual routine, providing age-appropriate activities, communicating with families, and supporting children's developmental needs. What You'll Do Provide daily care, supervision, and support for infants. Keep children safe, comfortable, and engaged throughout the day. Follow classroom schedules and each child's individual feeding, sleeping, and care routines. Plan and provide age-appropriate activities that support children's development. Provide individualized activities for infants under 12 months and children with special needs. Complete required assessments, meal records, family conference forms, and other classroom documentation. Communicate children's development, progress, and concerns to families and the Site Director. Assist with feeding, snacks, and mealtimes. Change diapers every two hours or as needed and complete required documentation. Keep the classroom, storage areas, and bathrooms clean, organized, and sanitary. Follow all Playmates policies, state licensing requirements, and health and safety guidelines. Report concerns about a child's needs or development to the Site Director. Follow required procedures for reporting suspected child abuse or neglect. Participate in staff meetings, training, evaluations, and professional development. Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and employee information. Personal cell phone use is not permitted in the classroom in accordance with Playmates personnel policies. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience preferred. Experience working with infants or young children preferred. Knowledge of infant development and age-appropriate learning practices. Ability to plan activities that meet children's developmental needs. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Ability to follow schedules, directions, and center policies. Basic computer skills. CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. WIVIT or ACDS certification required, or willingness to obtain certification if not currently certified. Knowledge of childcare licensing, health, safety, and sanitation requirements. Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development. Ability to maintain confidentiality. A positive attitude and genuine passion for working with infants and families. Why Join Playmates?
