We are looking for Early Childhood Education Assistant Teacher/Floaters to encourage the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our center. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination.

Job Duties:

Demonstrate leadership skills in the classroom when the lead teacher is absent. Shares innovative and creative ideas in and out of the classroom. Assist the lead teacher in planning all activities for the classroom. Execute activities when the lead teacher is absent. Expresses willingness to learn and apply new skills. Assists in completing all paperwork daily, weekly, and/or monthly. Knowledge of adherence to all agency policies and procedures and all applicable laws. Offers assistance to others. Demonstrates flexibility. Shows initiative. Follows classroom schedules. Positively reinforces classroom rules. Adheres to all NAEYC and State licensure regulations. Shows and demonstrates respect for others. Attends all staff meetings. Demonstrates a professional attitude and maturity. Assist with parent-teacher conferences twice a year. Demonstrates good time management skills. Communicate with the lead teacher and director. Provides a good role model for the children through conduct and personal habits. Encourages language development by asking the children questions that require more than yes or no answers Correct the children in a positive and gentle manner. Encourages the children to ask questions. Communicates easily with parents and keeps parents informed about their children. Keeps all personal information about children, families, and staff confidential. Eyes on supervision at all times and ensures the safety of children. Demonstrates proper procedures when responding to emergency evacuations. Accepts direction from the lead teacher. Works well as a team with a lead teacher. Performs all other duties as assigned by the director or designee.

Physical Requirements:

May frequently be required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, push, talk, hear, see, and use repetitive motions Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various environments (office, classroom, playground, and field trip outings) Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds Must be able to see and hear a child in distress up to 25 feet away Must be able to sit on the floor with children and get up quickly if needed Specific vision abilities to include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, ability to adjust focus Must be able to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff members

Classification:

Teaching Personnel Full Time Monday-Friday Hours may vary, but typically a 40-hour week 1 hour unpaid lunch break

$14.00 - $18.00 per hour
