About Chandler Park Academy:

Position Overview:
The Academic Intervention Specialist is responsible for improving student achievement in reading and/or mathematics, focusing on the Response to Intervention (RTI) Framework's Tier II and Tier III interventions. This professional will provide targeted instruction to one-on-one and small groups of students who face academic challenges. Additionally, the Academic Interventionist will track and report on student progress, collaborate with educational staff and families, and support the implementation of data-driven instructional strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality reading and math instruction to individual students and small groups, using assessment data to deliver differentiated, research-based instruction aligned with grade-level standards. Thoroughly monitor student performance through documentation and diagnostic assessments, contributing to decisions regarding student placements. Contribute to developing and refining intervention programs and support the implementation of assessment tools and data systems.
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Teacher Certification or actively enrolled in a certification program. Demonstrated commitment to equitable and culturally responsive teaching practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to design and implement differentiated instructional strategies. Strong organizational and time management skills. Capacity to manage responsibilities across multiple school sites if needed. Demonstrate familiarity with collaborative teaching methods, including team teaching and working with special education staff. Proficient in data collection, analysis, and recommending student placement based on that data. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, staff, students, and families.
