Job Description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly. Bonnie Cone Classical Academy is now accepting applications for a Part-time Reading Interventionist for the 2026-2027 academic year. As a school grounded in classical education, we seek candidates who are enthusiastic about classical teaching methods, particularly the trivium approach (grammar, logic, rhetoric). Our classical model emphasizes a rich knowledge base, critical thinking, and the ability to express and apply ideas effectively . Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check. The Reading Interventionist will be responsible for supporting students who are struggling with reading by providing targeted interventions and personalized instruction. This role involves assessing students' reading levels, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing effective strategies to enhance literacy skills. The Reading Interventionist will collaborate with classroom teachers and parents to create a supportive learning environment that promotes reading proficiency and fosters a love for literature. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conducting assessments to identify students' reading levels and specific areas of difficulty, using both formal and informal assessment tools. Developing tailored intervention plans based on assessment data to address individual students' needs. This might involve creating specialized lesson plans, selecting appropriate reading materials, and utilizing evidence-based instructional strategies. Delivering one-on-one or small group instruction to students, focusing on targeted reading skills such as phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Regularly evaluating and tracking students' progress to determine the effectiveness of interventions and making necessary adjustments to instruction. Working closely with classroom teachers to integrate reading interventions into the broader curriculum and to ensure consistency in instruction and support. Communicating with parents and guardians to discuss students' progress, provide strategies for supporting reading at home, and involve them in the intervention process. Participating in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in reading instruction and intervention. Keeping detailed records of student progress, intervention strategies, and outcomes, and preparing reports for school administration, parents, and other stakeholders as needed. Required Skills:
Organizational and self-management skills to effectively handle multiple responsibilities. Strong planning, execution, and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of reading instruction, assessment tools, and intervention techniques. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

NCSBI Preferred Qualifications:
