Job Description

We are seeking a warm and engaging Financial Literacy Teacher / Facilitator for an anticipated youth financial education program in Manhattan. This opportunity is ideal for a teacher, educator, financial literacy instructor, or youth program facilitator who enjoys working with children and young people and can make everyday money concepts simple, practical, and fun. The program is anticipated to run year-round under a three-year contract , offering the opportunity for consistent, longer-term project work without the commitment of a full-time or part-time position. This opportunity is contingent upon award of the underlying contract. The Opportunity The program is expected to serve up to five cohorts of children and youth , with an anticipated schedule of: 2 on-site days per week Approximately 3 instructional hours per day Approximately 6 instructional hours per week Recurring programming throughout the year We're looking for someone interested in developing consistency with the program while maintaining the flexibility of a contract engagement. Scheduling will be coordinated based on program needs and facilitator availability. What You'll Teach You'll lead age-appropriate lessons and hands-on activities covering topics such as: Saving, spending, and money management Budgeting Banking and bank accounts Credit and responsible borrowing Taxes Investing Financial goal setting Creating personal budgets Foundational money concepts for younger children The goal is to make financial education approachable, interactive, and relevant to everyday life . What You'll Do Your primary role is to teach, engage, and encourage participation . You'll be responsible for: Reviewing and becoming familiar with provided curriculum and instructional materials before each session Coming prepared to confidently teach the assigned material Explaining concepts in clear, age-appropriate language Leading activities and encouraging participation Adapting your teaching approach to different ages and learning styles Creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment We want someone who can learn the material, connect with the children, and bring the lessons to life. Qualifications To be considered, candidates should meet the following qualifications: 5+ years of relevant professional experience teaching or facilitating financial literacy, personal finance, business, accounting, economics, or closely related educational programming Demonstrated experience teaching or facilitating programs for children and youth Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Working knowledge of core personal finance concepts, including budgeting, banking, credit, saving, and basic investing Ability to translate financial concepts into clear, engaging, age-appropriate lessons Strong classroom, group facilitation, and communication skills Ability to work thoughtfully with children and young people with a variety of backgrounds, life experiences, learning needs, and abilities Dependability and availability for recurring on-site programming in Manhattan Experience specifically designing or facilitating financial literacy programs for children and youth is highly valued.
