Full Time Job Summary:
This position provides assistance to classroom teachers with literacy interventions and differentiation to students identified as having gaps in the area of reading/ literacy.
Responsibilities:
- Employ positive reinforcement techniques.
- Implement interventions to students.
- Motivate student learners.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, elementary reading teachers, and elementary curriculum leaders.
- Committed to collaboration with teachers and communicating.
- Establish/maintain frequent communications with parents/guardians.
- Proficiency in computer/technology skills.
- Willing and able to become a member of a collegial learning community.
- Perform related work as required.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Knowledgeable and skilled in providing differentiated learning strategies in the areas of literacy content and assessments.
- Knowledge of elementary foundations in literacy.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized and accredited college or university preferred; Associate's Degree with paraprofessional training is acceptable.
Certification & Licensing:
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
Physical Requirements:
- Walk, climb stairs, bend and lift up to 45lbs.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must provide a current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
