Full Time Job Summary:

This position provides assistance to classroom teachers with literacy interventions and differentiation to students identified as having gaps in the area of reading/ literacy.

Responsibilities:
  • Employ positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Implement interventions to students.
  • Motivate student learners.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, elementary reading teachers, and elementary curriculum leaders.
  • Committed to collaboration with teachers and communicating.
  • Establish/maintain frequent communications with parents/guardians.
  • Proficiency in computer/technology skills.
  • Willing and able to become a member of a collegial learning community.
  • Perform related work as required.
Qualifications:
    Experience:
    • Knowledgeable and skilled in providing differentiated learning strategies in the areas of literacy content and assessments.
    • Knowledge of elementary foundations in literacy.
    Education:
    • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
    • A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized and accredited college or university preferred; Associate's Degree with paraprofessional training is acceptable.
    Certification & Licensing:
    • Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Walk, climb stairs, bend and lift up to 45lbs.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
    • Must provide a current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
