In this role, you will design engaging instructional strategies, implement effective literacy programs, and support students in developing their reading comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking abilities. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive reading curricula aligned with educational standards and best practices in literacy education Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate creative writing, phonics, vocabulary development, and comprehension strategies Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate personalized learning experiences Conduct assessments, including standardized testing and formative evaluations, to monitor student progress and inform instruction Provide one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction to support diverse learning needs, including special education students Mentor fellow educators by sharing expertise in curriculum development, classroom management, and instructional design Maintain detailed records of student performance, lesson plans, and instructional materials in accordance with school policies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Literacy, Linguistics, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred Proven experience working with students in classroom settings, including private school or higher education environments Strong knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, AP style, proofreading, copy editing, and journalistic writing techniques Expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies for literacy education Familiarity with learning technology platforms and research-based teaching methodologies such as Montessori or behavior management techniques Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor colleagues and engage students effectively Organizational skills necessary for lesson planning, classroom management, and educational administration Experience working with diverse student populations including those requiring special education accommodations or behavior support Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and library services related to academic research and literacy development Join us as a Reading Teacher to ignite students' passion for reading while honing your craft through innovative instruction.
