• 12th Grade Science Teacher at Joint School District # 171 in Orofino, Idaho, United States Job Description Position Overview Orofino Junior Senior High School is seeking a qualified and dedicated 9th-12th Grade Science Teacher to teach Physical Science and Science Electives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a rigorous learning environment that prepares students for post-secondary success, whether in higher education or the workforce. Qualifications Idaho teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s).

We welcome candidates pursuing Alternative Authorization paths to certification. If you have a strong science background and are eligible for an Idaho alternative route, we encourage you to apply. Strong background in teaching methods, developmentally appropriate classroom activities, and effective classroom management Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching methods Strong background in curriculum and the Idaho Core Standards Strong background in the integration of technology with instruction Ability to maintain a positive learning environment Work well with students, staff, and the public Excellent organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Able to work under deadlines Maintain confidentiality of staff and students Demonstrate consistent, daily attendance and punctuality. We believe that student achievement is directly tied to the consistency of instruction and the stability of the classroom environment Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Schedule:

Four-day school week with periodic Friday work days

• 174 contract days per school year
