The College offers associate degree and certificate programs designed to prepare students with practical skills for today's workforce. Job Summary Taylor Business Institute is seeking a qualified and student-focused Adjunct Computer Information Systems (CIS) Instructor to teach undergraduate courses in computer information systems and Microsoft Office applications. The instructor will provide engaging, hands-on instruction in areas including computer and information systems fundamentals, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, and other workplace productivity technologies. Courses may be offered in-person, online, or in a hybrid format. The instructor will be responsible for delivering course content in accordance with the approved curriculum, assessing student performance, maintaining academic records, and supporting student learning and success. Responsibilities Teach assigned Computer Information Systems (CIS) and Microsoft Office application courses at the associate-degree level. Provide hands-on instruction in computer hardware, software, operating systems, information systems, and workplace technology. Teach Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint. Provide instruction in basic and advanced Microsoft Excel functions, formulas, tables, charts, worksheets, and workbooks. Prepare and deliver lessons consistent with approved course syllabi, learning objectives, and institutional standards. Use the College's Learning Management System (LMS) and other instructional technologies to deliver and manage course content. Assess student learning through assignments, projects, quizzes, examinations, and practical exercises. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and academic records. Provide appropriate academic support and guidance to students. Promote professional standards related to data privacy, information security, copyright, plagiarism, and responsible technology use. Participate in faculty meetings, training, and other academic activities as required. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field . Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint . Strong knowledge of computer systems, software applications, operating systems, cloud-based productivity tools, and general information technology concepts. Ability to teach students with varying levels of technical experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide clear, practical, and engaging technical instruction. Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) and instructional technology. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate academic records. Commitment to student success and a student-centered learning environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching or training experience in higher education, career education, adult education, or a related environment. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification or other relevant Microsoft certification. Experience preparing students for Microsoft Office Specialist certification examinations. Experience teaching in online, hybrid, and in-person formats.
