Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science educator to join our team at Webster County High School. This full-time position requires an individual who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring students to explore the wonders of science. The ideal candidate will possess strong subject knowledge, effective teaching strategies, and the ability to engage students in hands-on learning experiences. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging science curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes critical thinking. Deliver high-quality instruction in various scientific disciplines, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science. Create and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning. Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities and participate in professional development programs. Organize and supervise laboratory experiments and field trips to enhance practical learning experiences. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Foster a culture of inquiry and curiosity among students, encouraging them to ask questions and explore scientific concepts. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student success and address any concerns. Stay current with advancements in science education and integrate new technologies and methodologies into the classroom. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification in Science for secondary education. Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and principles across various disciplines. Demonstrated experience in teaching science at the high school level, preferably in a public school setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance the learning experience. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices. Background check and clearance as required by school district policies.
